Hosted by Babylon Town Historical Society

Historic Suffolk County is an annual Archives Month event where the many organizations dedicated to preserving the unique history of Suffolk County gather to raise public awareness of the documentary resources they have available. Public libraries, genealogy groups, historical societies, and school classes all take part in this celebration of Suffolk County history.

Archives Month is a joint effort of The Council of State Archivists (CoSA) and the Society of American Archivists to develop a nationwide annual observance highlighting Archives. American Archives Month events are held to educate the public about the work that archivists and other custodians of historic records do and why it is important.
